The Hierarchy Protocol

A RAW Systems Work Model Protocol: Some parts carry everything. Others carry nothing. Neither serves the goal.

What this is for: Developing the capacity to influence how information is distributed across the system from your position within it — working with the hierarchy you are part of to restore the flow that allows the system to decide and act toward its goal.

When to use: When parts are burdened with what they should not be carrying. When other parts lack what they need and cannot name what is missing. When decisions stall because authority is unclear. When information accumulates in some functions and starves others. When the felt sense inside the system is that something is being held — but no one can locate it.

The goal: To influence the distribution of information across the hierarchy from inside it — not by redesigning the structure but by changing what you hold, what you release, and what you make available through the connections you are already part of.
